Announcement: Study Abroad Week
Event Date: 01/27/2020
Check out all of our events during the last week of January to learn more about studying abroad!
The Office of International Programs would like to welcome you to our Spring Study Abroad Week! Whether you're interested in studying abroad short-term, long-term, or perhaps you have questions or concerns about the process, there is an event catered to your needs, and previous study abroad participants and office staff to assist you.
January 27th | Money & Study Abroad
The Office of International Programs, Office of Fellowships & Scholarship, and Office of Financial Planning will explain the financial component of studying abroad, including applicable scholarships, financial aid, and the program expenses. Previous study abroad participants will also share their experiences on how they were able to study abroad affordably.
January 28th | Mercer in London
A representative from the American Institute for Foreign Study and the Office of International Programs will be presenting information regarding our new Mercer in London program for students. If you're interested in the UK or studying in London, this is the session for you!
January 28th | Welcome Back Reception
We are hosting a Welcome Back Reception for students who have previously participated in a Mercer-affiliated study abroad program. This is a great opportunity to interact with Mercer peers who have been abroad, learn about upcoming events, and share stories. We will be announcing our photo contest winners during the reception, as well as recent scholarship recipients.
January 29th | Study Abroad Fair
We will be featuring our faculty-led, exchange, and affiliate programs from 10:00am - 2:00pm in Penfield Hall! Feel free to stop by anytime between these hours to grab study abroad materials, speak to previous study abroad participants, and enter a raffle for t-shirts!
January 29th | Peace Corps Alumni Panel
Retired Peace Corps volunteers will come to campus, along with the regional Peace Corps recruiter to provide a panel to students who are interested in applying to the Peace Corps. A representative from our office will also answer any questions about our Peace Corps program!
January 30th | Study Abroad Panel
Join the Office of International Programs & Minority Mentor Program as we discuss the joys of studying abroad, as well as topics of identity, gender, race, and more! The panel will feature previous study abroad participants, so it's a great opportunity to hear about the benefits and challenges of studying abroad directly from your peers.
January 31st | Study Abroad 101
The last opportunity of the week to learn about the study abroad process from A - Z!
