The Study Abroad Ambassador Program is an organization of Mercer students, who after their return from a study abroad program, commit to become student leaders on-campus with the outreach and promotion of Mercer’s study abroad opportunities and benefits.
Eligibility Criteria for an Ambassador
1. Students must have completed a Mercer Abroad study abroad program.
3. Students must come in for an interview.
Application Cycle
Applications open on July 24th for fall semester. The deadline for the application is August 20th, and students will be notified by the end of the month.

The Office of Global Education wants to capitalize on your thoughts and expertise from your time abroad, through cultivating an environment where you can share your experience with those around you who have the same passion! Fully grasp your role as a global citizen, and grow in academic, professional and personal development!
We want Study Abroad Ambassadors to holistically reflect upon and articulate a variety of topics from their time abroad, while maintaining a professional demeanor and positive attitude regarding their international experience. Through involvement in the Mercer community, the Study Abroad Ambassador program is your way to continue to build upon your experience abroad, back home!

- Exchange programs
- Faculty-led programs
- Affiliate programs
Mercer Abroad programs DO NOT include:
- Mercer On Mission

Responsibilities of Ambassadors:
- Represent the Office of Global Education during the annual Study Abroad Week, Bear Fair, Saturday Previews, and UNV 101 classes to share first hand experiences to future Study Abroad Prospects.
- Volunteer to assist during events related to specific programs such as information sessions, pre departure orientations, and reintegration of returned abroad students.
- Attend monthly meetings/socials to discuss new ideas for raising awareness and interest campus wide, as well as improving our current programs.
Requirements:
- Help out the Study Abroad Office during the Study Abroad Fair/Week
- Attend TWO study abroad events, such as Bear Fair, Saturday Previews, UNV 101 classes, or any other events which we put on or you create
